The Course

The National Golf Club of Louisiana is a new and exciting golf course nestled in the stately pines of Western Louisiana with breathtaking vistas and beautiful water features. Designed by renowned architect Dave Bennett The National Golf Club of Louisiana will provide a challenge to all levels of golfers.  10 years of planning and countless hours of work have combined to make this course a must play for anyone visiting the areas of Westlake and Greater Lake Charles LA.


General Rules:

  • The hours of operations of The National Golf Club of Louisiana will be established considering the season of the year and other circumstances, and will be posted at the clubhouse.

  • All state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages will be strictly enforced. Alcohol may be purchased in the bar for drinking on the golf course but must not be taken off the premises. Please return all bottles and cans to the appropriate containers. Members of the club staff reserve the right to prohibit the sale of alcohol to anyone believed to be intoxicated. All patrons must comply with requests to verify their age when purchasing alcohol. All food and beverage consumed on the premises must be furnished by The National Golf Club of Louisiana unless advance arrangements and exceptions have been made. Alcohol not purchased from the club will be confiscated.

  • Dogs and other pets are not permitted on the course or in the clubhouse without prior approval of club management.

  • The clubhouse at The National Golf Club of Louisiana is a smoke-free environment.

  • The National Golf Club of Louisiana is not responsible for any loss or damage to any private property used or stored on the premises.

  • Use caution around all construction areas


Dress Code:

  • Appropriate golf attire is required at all times on the property of The National Golf Club of Louisiana.

  • Men: Shirts must have a collar and sleeves (mock-turtleneck and turtleneck-style collars are acceptable). Shirts must be worn at all times. Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, cut-offs, bike shorts, gym shorts and swimwear are not appropriate attire.

  • Women: Golf shirts and sport shirts with or without a collar and with or without sleeves (material must cover the shoulder) are acceptable attire. Halter tops, tops with narrow straps or that expose the midriff, swimwear, cut-offs, bike shorts and gym shorts are not appropriate attire.

  • Blue and/or black denim jeans or shorts are not acceptable golf attire for play. Visitors and guests are welcome in the clubhouse but will be asked to change prior to their round. Shoes and other footwear must enclose the heel and toe and be securely attached. Metal spikes are not permitted on the premises of The National Golf Club of Louisiana.

 

Course Rules:

  • The Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association (USGA) together with the Rules of Etiquette as adopted by the USGA shall be the rules of the Club, except where superseded by local rules.

  • All players must register at the Golf Shop. Players must start play from either the first or tenth tee as directed by club personnel. “Cutting-in” and starting on any other hole is not permitted. Failure to register with club personnel in advance of a reserved starting time may result in cancellation or other loss of time.

  • Each player must have their own set of clubs.

  • Golf marshals may be on duty to help regulate play and provide other services. Please obey all directions from club personnel.

  • Management may close the golf course to play whenever the grounds could become damaged by play or as a result of dangerous weather conditions. All players must exit the golf course when directed to do so by club personnel.


Golf Cart Rules:

  • Golf carts shall not be used without proper assignment and registration in the Golf Shop.

  • Each operator of a golf cart must be at least eighteen years of age or have a valid driver’s license.

  • Only two persons and two sets of clubs are permitted per golf cart. Club personnel reserve the right to pair single riders as necessary.

  • Golf carts are not permitted on neighborhood streets except in the act of playing golf. Golf carts may not be issued to players solely using the practice facility. Obey all golf cart traffic signs.

  • Players must observe posted golf cart usage rules. Rules will vary according to conditions and will be posted in the Golf Shop.

  • Always use cart paths where provided, especially near tees and greens. Except on cart paths, do not drive a golf cart within thirty yards of a tee or green. Never drive a golf cart through a hazard, including bunkers and native areas.

  • Use caution and avoid slopes, rough and unstable terrain, soft areas on fairways and roughs, and around construction areas.

  • Operation of a golf cart is at the sole risk of the operator. The operator will be held fully responsible for any damage resulting from inappropriate use.

  • Violations of golf cart rules may result in loss of cart and/or playing privileges.

  • Privately-owned or “trail golf cars” are not permitted.


Course Etiquette:

  • All players are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times.

  • Club personnel reserve the right to pair smaller groups. Fivesomes are not permitted for regular play. Golf outings and other special events that require fivesomes for play, ex. Pro-Am events, are permitted when accepting the terms and conditions of their event contract with the course. Contact the GM for more information.

  • Golf marshals may be on duty to help regulate play and provide other services. Please obey directives or instructions from club personnel.

  • Player’s are expected to play at a good pace, keeping ahead and out of range of any trailing group, allowing faster players to play-through as soon as possible.

  • If a player believes his ball may be lost outside a water hazard or is out of bounds, to save time, he should play a provisional ball.

  • Carefully repair ball marks on greens, fill or replace divots on tees and fairways, and rake or smooth all bunkers. Please return all rakes to the bunker after use. Take care handling the flagstick while on the green and when replacing the flagstick in the hole. Do not use a club to remove a ball from the hole. Please retrieve broken tees from the teeing ground after use. When using the driving range, stay within the marked teeing ground. Only practicing chipping or other short shots to the Chipping Green.

  • Pull carts should not be pulled over tees, greens or collars around the greens, or through hazards, including bunkers.

  • Place all waste in course appropriate trash cans and receptacles around the course.
